Welcome to the Energy Quality Initiative (EQI)!
EQI is a volunteer-run initiative that develops quality standards for infrastructure in the energy sector and other critical systems.
On this website, the word “energy” is used broadly. It includes electricity systems and fuel-cycle infrastructure, and may also include oil and gas infrastructure and other energy-related critical assets.
We use the term “quality” broadly to include not only performance and reliability, but also safety, environmental protection, and the interests of the public and communities affected by infrastructure.
EQI standards are based on real work in the field and are written for people who design, build, operate, maintain, and oversee infrastructure. EQI is a volunteer-run public initiative, not a separate company or commercial enterprise.
